Up at 5.20 am - mustered the 40 steers into Ram p[addock]. Andy arrived for breakfast at 7.10 - we drafted out 10 of the poorer steers + drove the other 30 down to Levin sale, calling in at home en route to change clothes. Another wretched sale + again did not get a bid for the steers. Father offered me £6 for a pick of 25 which I accepted - this sale is to take the form of an exchange, Father to purchase me a line later on, + pay me interest on £150 till then. Left the 5 reject steers in Drive p. for night. Developed Hastings photos in evening.
