Took 60 of Father's fat 2-tooth wethers to Levin sale but did not sell in yards - sold privately later to Bulliman Bros. at 22/-. I bought a line of 18 well-breb steers (the

pick of a lot of 36) at £4.7.0 + left them in our cattle yards for the night. Read "When God Laughs" by Jack London. Howling easterly gale all day.
