Steady rain in night + all morning, also a gusty wind from NW. Made a gate for the 100 ac. p[addock] east fence in the stable. Showery afternoon - completed the benched track up terrace-face in Mill p. + cleared all the logs for another further up the road, making one of the two alternative crossings over the small swamp stream along side. Cut a few hinau posts for the block fence at south entrance to Ram p. Home for the night - an easterly wind on the plain. Father went to Palmerston + ordered seed (which is very dear this year) for the various "burns" on North Block.
