Overview
Thurs. Feb. 25.
Up at 10 to 6 am. Andy arrived for breakfast - at 7.30 we mustered ewes + lambs in Mill p[addock] into sheep-yards + drafted out the lambs. At 9.30 Father + the new man, Robert Scott arrived + we culled ewes, taking out 25 of the total 365 mustered. The lambs numbered 228, 6 less than at shearing. Took a photo of the four Tress children with their two pet wild pigs. Put the 340 ewes on south end + drove home the lambs + cull ewes less one too lame to travel. This time the sheep went over the river suspension bridge without trouble. Home in 2 3/4 hours. Put sheep in Cheslyn Rise yards - culled out 4 ewes , 3 of which I sold to Father for 7/- per head. The man Scott dagged the few of my lambs that needed it - we marked 27 cull leaving a clean line of 200 splendid Romney lambs, a credit to North Block. Andy + I took the 110 fat 2-tooth wethers to station + trucked them. Very hot night.
