Father, Andy + I rode up to North Block and cut scrub between Gladstone Road + the River up near Narby's flood-gate. We were much amused by Tress' children + their little pet wild pig which followed them everywhere. After dinner we started scrubbing northern end of lowest flat on Stuckey's Side. In evening I took Maud over to our future homestead site in near 42 ("Bankhurst" is the name we have decided on so far) and showed her how I

intend laying it out. We looked at the hedge of Pinus muricata + discussed the design of the garden we hope to make in the hollow at the head of the swamp. Admired the panoramic view + sunset + sat on a strainer till after dark + so had quite a struggle to get back to house. Rev. + Mrs Abbey came up for evening + invited us to their home on Monday evening next.
