Cycled down to Mrs Lancasters [sic] + took dearest Maud to church - Amy + Mr Smith accompanied us. Returned to "Hillcrest" for dinner + spent afternoon in garden, part of th time in a lovely little nest down in one corner + discussed the furnishing of our future home. Maud is such a darling, letting me cuddle

her as much as I liked. Later I took a 1/2 pl[ate] photo (1) of her + Amy in the drawing-room window-seat with Mr Smith looking at them thro' window; (2) Amy + Maud reclining on a wicker lounge + reading magazines; (3 + 4) Mr Lancaster's cream Jersey cow + its lovely little twin calves; + (5) afternoon tea in the summer-house. In the evening Maud + I talked in the summer house + strolled round the garden in the moonlight. Dearest said she "would die" if I did no go [sic] to see her on Tuesday evening next. My sweet softie.
