Drizzle in night + soft showers during morning. We took tools up to the Leighton p[addock] "burn" on hilltop (the future Grange p.) + re-cleared the track through same from top Leighton's Spur to back boundary, sawing up trees felled by Grange this season - horrible tangle of supplejack. Logged up into heaps alongside the track. Five of the big steers in Leighton p. - also foxgloves coming up into stalk with sickening rapidity - there is always something to worry one after a big day's work + give one a depressed feeling for the evening.
