Up early strong north-wester blowing made a sketch of the Wgtn [Wellington] coast from Baring Head to Cape Turakirae showing the two tiers of coastal platforms or benches on the hill slopes; at Baring Head there appears to be intermediate minor benches. Also the fans + raised beaches along present shore-line. Arrived Wgton wharf about 9 a.m. Took cab to Thorndon station + deposited bags. Called at Govt Bldgs [Government Buildings] purchased some maps +

reports containing H E Girdlestones description of the two routes across Tararua Ranges. Spent rest of day at Public Library. Left by 4:15 train car late so Bradley motored me up for 3/. News of Mr Jas Prouse s death last Sunday. Good to be home again but missed Maud + the babies very much.
