Over to Cheslyn Rise. The order of grass-seed had arrived from Barraud + Abraham. I weighed out my seed at follows:-

[page break]
30 lbs Cocksfoot at 1/10 per lb
8 " Dogstail " 1/6 " "
10 " Poa P. " 1/11" "
8 "Chewings " 1/5" "
4 " Wh. Clover " 3/- " "
We then mixed Father's two lots - one lot for layingdown the 1/ 1/2 ac[re] p[addock] (41 1/2 lbs per acre) + a small lot for UR. In pm Clif + I finished repairing bdy [boundary] fence at end of 20 ac. p. +Little Meadow. In evening the Cheslyn Rise party came over + spent the evening with us. In spite of the number - Father, Aunt Edie, Miss Milsom Miss Morrison, Agnes, Amy, Clare, Marjorie, Viv, Clif, Maud + I - the dining room accomodated us easily with room to spare. We had a "curlique" competition (a great success) won by Marjorie, songs, choruses etc + AuntEdie+ Miss Milson looked at some of my sets of photos. The party broke up at 11 + as all appeared to enjoy themseleves, we felt we had made a succss of it. Nancy slept the whole evening as usual. Today was Maud's 28th birthday.
