Dora's wedding day. Father + I drove 3 of his fat bullocks (sold at £17.15.0) to Bulliman's. After an early lunch, Maud, Nancy + I drove over to Cheslyn Rise in good time for the ceremony which took place at 1.40pm in the hall which was decorated with ivy + other

greenery by Clara + the other girls. The guests consisting principally of near friends + relatives of the two families were :- Mr E Law, Miss Law, Wilfred Law , best man, K Mitchell, Miss Milsom, Agnes + Amy, Aunt Edie, Miss M Morrison, Jim Law. Marjorie was the bridesmaid. The guests, bridgroom + best man took their places + Dora descended stairs on Father's arm + took her place under the arch of greenery near the fron door. The Rev Bawden Harris performed the ceremony. The whole company then asembled on the side lawn + I took 1/2 plate photos (1) + (2) group of bridal party + guests (Mrs Cotter squeezed the bulb to enable me to be in the photo). (3) + (4) the bride + bridegroom standing. Tea was then served in the drawing-room which was beautifully decorated with autumn tinted foliage by Miss Milsom. I proposed the toast of the bride + bridegroom. Mr E Law the toast of the bridesmaid + Rev Harris "The Boys at the front". Throughout the function Amy presided over the piano. Finally amid showers of confetti + good wishes, the happy

left in Father's car. Clif driving for Otaki, trailing a long wire with boots attached, where they caught the Wgton [Wellington] train en route for Picton. I took 1/4 pl. snaps (5) the car at front door (6) Dora entering car + (7) the car leaving. The guests then divided into parties + strolled round the gardens. The weather was perfect, warm + calm. 1/4 pl. photos (8) group in garden by stream (9) group on lawn (10) Amy + Jim Law + K. Mitchell. Later I took a 1/2 pl. photo (13) of group at tea on lawn from the balconey. In evening we played games in drawing room + on lawn + various guests contributed musical + vocal items + recitations.
