Made a tour of the shops in town + went along to the baths. Sat on the sand all the morning took photos (22) of beach, baths etc. from Rly [Railway] bridge (23) Sugarloaves from Kawaroa Park. (24) Softie paddling + exhibiting her adorable legs. (25) A "wee droppie on a rock. She said "You've got a lovely mouth + chin, Les darling". "I'll put 'em in a glass case" said he. "Oh no, youve got to use it." "Yes sweetheart" (+ he did). Back to dinner + in afternoon went up to Pukekura Park - went in another entrance - visited the waterfall + upper lake. Photo (26) of self on path at foot of lake. Went for a row on the lake - lovely bush with young rimu + white pine trees, grand ferns + other growth. Saw Poet's Bridge, Honeymoon + North Island - our boatman was a character + explained things. Photo (27) of boat on narrow upper reach of lake. Purchased two sets of views of the Park one of which we got framed for Mr. + Mrs. Herd as a momento of our trip to New Plymouth, the other for ourselves.
