Sat. Nov. 27.
Made a crossing over one of the swampy creeks above Ram p[addock]. Rode home for dinner + to Levin to cash cheque etc. Later Clare drove me down to meet the Napier Mail train + Mrs. Herd + Beloved Maud - they came with me to see Harvey's furn[iture] store, + after tea at the "Taeiri", we caught the 4.40 pm train to Wellington. In Maud's company the journey passed like a flash. Took tram up to the "People's Palace" where we are to stay. Fish supper at a restaurant + after seeing Mrs. Herd back to the hotel, Darling + I went for a walk down the town, it was glorious because she's a dream.
