Andy + I carted soil from excavation behind woolshed to swamp. At midday Mr. Whitaker arrived with the first two loads of timber for my house. In afternoon Father, Andy + I drafted out 42 of Father's cattle (including 28 of those he bgt [bought] form me at £6) for sale on Wed. After work I rode up to North Block to camp. Counted the 26 steers in Mill p[addock] + pulled foxgloves on same till 7. Read "The Voice of the City" by O. Henry.
