Dearest + I did not go to church. Spent the flying hours loving each other + discussing things - also read the marriage service through + found it most interesting + beautiful. She + I have lovely talks + discussions, + being quite frank with each other have arrived at a perfectly beautiful state of mutual trust. A Mr. Phillips, a "Samoa hero" + a friend of Alice's, came to tea. For tea darling Softie put on the sweetest of white dresses with a pale pink sash - of course I was smitten almost dumb with admiration + with her blue eyes sparkling + dancing with amusement, she made a most alluring picture of loveliness. What a girl! In the evening she + I went for a walk + visited Cornwall Park + enjoyed ourselves very much though the only seat we could find (a rustic one) was too ornamental to be comfortable especially as she seems to weigh a very good 9 st. But her thrilling sweetness, loveliness + lovingness - words are useless but I remember.
