Sun. Sept. 12.
Spent the day tramping over block (except Leighton Spur + "1st burn") in search of my missing steers. Result:- 31 in Mill p[addock], 6 in Leighton p[addock], 18 on South End, total 55, plus 5 dead, which leaves 10 still missing. Cattle have not been into bad scrub area on Ohau Slope for at least 3 months. Rode home in afternoon. Drove to church in evening.
