Overview
Sun. June. 6.
Sweet Softie + I stayed at home all day + loved each other in the drawing-room. She read to me from a book called "At the Sign of the Jack-o'-lantern", varying the monotomy (an unsuitable word but can't think of another) by kissing + cuddling me, and giving me nice little talks emphasising her points by giving me comical wee taps on the chin with her forefinger slightly curved. I retaliated by encircling her dainty wrist with my thumb + first finger - all very ridiculous perhaps but very loving.

After tea I had another short talk with Mr. Herd regarding my prospects. In the evening Maud recited to me very charmingly something which ended "catch me, catch me". So naturally I had to catch her which I finally did + of course kissed her too. In spite of a whole day together we found parting very difficult + simply can't get tired of each other's company.
