Fine sunny day. Bulliman lifted 7 more of the £8.15 bullocks. Got in the 334 Romney lambs raddled them + took them up to the South Block. The[y] crossed the river quickly + we arrived in time for dinner. In afternoon mustered the 610 two-toothed ewes + wethers ewes (a few only) down to "Cheslyn Rise" arriving at 10 to 7 pm. Seeing smoke rising on North Block I rode up quickly + found sawdust starting to burn briskly again. Read "The Love Pirate" by A.N. + C.M. Williamson. On Friday last we got news of a big Russian reverse in East Prussia due to a sudden huge concentration of German troops - the Russians lost a whole army corps.
