Lovely fine day + ideal for firing bush UR if we had not had showers. A young fellow named Dick Bayliss, of Horo[whenua] V[illage] Settlement applied for a job fencing etc on North Block with me + will start work on Monday. Father, Andy, Gil + I rode up to North Block + cut scrub on terrace at north end of Stuckey's Side of Mill p[addock]. We make [sic] a grand clear up cutting down the innumerable pungas etc. Took a photo of Father + Andy cutting scrub on the terrace mentioned above, looking from a stump near Narby's bdy [boundary] towards the whares. Spent a pleasant evening with Maud. Received weight of 8 bales of wool from Dalgety + Co. Wgton [Wellington]
