Up at 5.45 - Ryder arrived with sheep purchased by Father on Tuesday at Waikanae = 74 2-tooth ewes for me @ 16/- from S. Carner of Rikiorangi + 230 shorn lambs for himself @ 8/3. On drafting we found two of my ewes short, the number being made up by two stranger lambs. Drove my 6 small steers (2 £1 lots, 3 £2.4 lots + 1 £3.7 lot) to Levin sale before breakfast. Also took 21 forward bullocks + the Jersey bull sold yesterday to Levin. Also cull blackface lambs. A great sale - very big yarding of cattle + wonderful prices for same. Mr Narby, my neighbour UR got splendid prices :- 3 yr bullocks £9.10; 3 yr. Pole Angus d[itt]o £8.19 + well bred forward cows £7.10.0 ; Mr. Bevan resold the 21 bullocks he bought off Father yes-
