Mustered the 37 steers on Mill p[addock] into Ram p. + when Father, Andy + Gil arrived we drafted out 4 small young ones + the big bullock + put rest on Leighton p. We then went on scrubbing nearby cutting out the terraces above Gladstone Road north of stable. Took the 5 steers home in evening. Drove down to Hillcrest to bring Maud up to stay at Cheslyn Rise. Received news of attempted invasion of Egypt by Turks - they threw pontoon bridges over Suez Canal but were repulsed with heavy losses + prisoners taken by Australian + N.Z. troops.
