Overview
Wed. Feb. 3.
Father, Andy, Gil + I rode up to North Blk [Block] and cut out block of scrub left for us by Grange at top of Leighton Spur. The Lancasters + Maud picinced [sic] at my whare in the mill but I did not have time to go down to them. We were invited to a party at Uncle Bert's house in evening - I drove round with Mr Smith, Amy L. and Maud. Uncle Percy + family were in charge - the former being in great form + awfully funny: music and charades. Maud played violin + sang + most of rest performed. A most enjoyable evening - Uncle Percy came out to trap to see us off - he bowed to Maud, placed his hand over his heart + tenderly murmurred "Think of me sometimes". Bed at 12.30 am. To-day Marjorie went to Wgtn [Wellington] to take up her duties as pupil-teacher at Brooklyn school.
