Took it easy all day, "reeling, writhing + fainting in coils" such like. Church in evening. After service Gil went to get trap, big black horse Dolly got blinkers off + bolted, out of church gates nearly slap into Century Hall + then up Queen Street. Gil pluckily managed to guide it wth blinkers on chest + when it got one leg thro' dashboard pulled it up. By miracle no damage done except dashboard smashed off. News of child named Chapman drowned at Hokio Beach.
