Very hot day. Father + I drove down to Otaki stock sale. Left Levin 9.30 - arrived Otaki rly-stn [railway station] 10.55. Took a photo of main street of Otaki showing town hall. Went to yards to look over stock - by yarding of cattle. Dinner at Jubilee Hotel. Sale commenced at 1 pm - big crowd of buyers + very high prices - I bid to with 6d of £2.18.0 on a line of yearling steers. Prices too stiff so neither of us bought. Left for home 3.30 - photo of road between Otaki + Manakau - Levin 5.10. Developed batch of velvet green prints in evening.
