Block and cut a wide track up the valley of South Creek to open up a very overgrown track. The Germans were signally defeated by the Allies at Arras in France - 12000 men being killed or wounded. Terrible details of the evacuation of Antwerp to hand - piteous scenes on the roads leading to Ostend + Holland - many starving + dying on the road-sides - especially children + the aged.
