Dick + I rode up to North Block to camp. Went over to 100 ac[re] p[addock] fence on Ohau Flat - finished straining wires down to river fence + put on all battens except about 35 on top East Low Hill. Finished second small

drain alongside gateway + widened + widened the bridge leading thereto - a satisfactory days' work. Feed still terribly short on 100 ac. p. and some of the ewes looking very poor. After work counted steers on Mill p. + saw 33 of the 34. One red steer is sick - Read told me he saw him staggering about + falling down earlier in day - probably tutu'ed but not fatally I hope.
