Walked over to 100 ac[re] p[addock] fence carrying coils

of wire. I ran out + strained up wires from top East Low Hill to Ohau fence while Dick cut down dead wineberry on hill + dug the small drain which runs under the fence near the Ohau Flat gate. Ran out of wire below gate so started putting on battens on other part of fence. Counted cattle on Mill p. + found that one had got back into Kay's again. Rode home + to Levin in evening. The battle of the Aisne still rages - the longest battle in history. Russians advance on Cracow.
