ewes off Leighton p[addock] + put them on South end where there are already about 20. Took out the 7 rams + put them on Mill p. Rode up to Ohau Summit + split battens - the honeysuckle log yielded 150 + split well; the matai being rotten, only 34, the rimu split like matchwood, the best I've ever seen, + yielded 126, one length being rotten. Carried out about 100 battens + left for whare at 4.30 pm.
