Light fall of snow on ranges. Drenched the 400 Elder lambs. Spent a delightful

time in the rose garden with dear Maud both before + after dinner - great luck! Continued erecting CK-Cow p[addock] fence. In evening played games + then talked to + had a good time with Maud in the dining-room, though the presence of the others was a nuisence[sic].
