Anstice, Jim + I rode up to North Block - finished off new entrance gate + erected a second cattle stop on the old road. The[sic] worked at Ram p[addock] fence - moved fence back from encroaching river + put in entrance gate post of rimu as there was no hinau handy. Left at 2.30 - Anstice + I took the 116 fat wethers to station + trucked them - very cold drive down. Home to tea - drove down to Mr Lancaster's to join Maud who spent afternoon there - we spent a very pleasant evening - the firebell rang at 10 pm + Maud, Amy + I drove down to see it - a tailor's shop in Oxford St. Had an enjoyable drive home with my dearest adorable[sic].
