Got in 205 of my ewes + marked them across the shoulders with red raddle + took them up to Leighton's paddock, North Block. Jim drove cart up with a load of 4 hurdles for South Bl[oc]k, 5 cwt plain wire, 3 cwt barb wire + 4 sacks of grass-seed for North Blk. After dinner Jim + Anstice started clearing line for 100 ac[re] paddock east fence working south from foot of "Main Spur" + Father , gil + I sowed "burns" on "Ohau Summit", "Upper Ravine Spur" and along east fence-line of 100 ac. p. - a good start at the big job of sowing the "burns". Stopped work at 5 pm. As Anstice + I are to camp up here till Saturday we went over to whares, had tea in my whare (Anstice is to sleep in the other whare near by), made up bunks + turned in about 8 pm. Fine clear night.
