Anstice + I rode down to rly [railway] station to get the three trucks (210) of ewes which arrived from Mr C. Cornford, Maowhanga Taihape by early train. A considerable percentage of these ewes proved to be disappointingly small but they are remarkably healthy + active + opinion of Father, Mr Kay + Uncle Bert should do well on North Block. Heavy rain fell till about 9.30 am, but it cleared after dinner + so got my ewes in for mouthing + dipping. We found 5 full mouth (broken) ones among them for which I will claim a rebate on the price landed here, viz 16/3 (15/6 plus freight, 9d per head)
