Took photo of Clare + Mother beside Koputaroa Stream showing pathway – instead of failure of this view taken on occasion of Maud’s visit. In afternoon cycled to Kawiu Road

to spend time with Maud – introduced to Mr Brown (Wgton College Old Boy of my time) who has bought Mr Herd’s Bruce Road farm. Maud showed me round the pretty garden and I kissed her at frequent intervals (she returned some in the bee house). She looked sweet in a blue dress with coloured silk collar. Had a very nice time + stayed to tea. Maud + I walked to church + back – the move to Kawiu Road has it[s] compensations + hope I hope they stay there a good while.
