Received news of the Rev W Tinsley’s death which occurred last night. Shepherding + logging up etc in SE corner of CK p[addock]. At 12.15 the easterly wind which was blowing freshly, suddenly

changed to west + down came the rain – it happened in the space of a minute or two. Rode down to Levin in the evening.
