Stayed at home in morning. After dinner took 14/ pl[ate] camera + cycled over to the Kimberley Road Forest Reserve to take some views illustrating a former Levin C.E. picnic for a set of photos I am making depicting the history of Maud + self. The views I secured were as follow: – (1) The Forest Reserve clearing looking west from entrance gate (panoramic view); (2) the F.R. [Forest Reserve] clearing + Ohau River east (panorama); (3) The lunch place on wooded “island” between river + flood-channel; (4) The Ohau R (looking up stream) + edge of bush along which we went for a walk (panorama) (5) another view of lunch place looking west (6) group of sheep on F.R. clearing; (10) the upper part of Kimberley Road. Finished reading “The Winning of Barbara Worth”

by Harold Bell Wright – a splendid tale one of the best I’ve ever read. Down to church in evening – Rev Harris who is assisting Rev. Tinsley during latter’s illness, preached.
