At 9.40 am met Maud on Queen St to

take her for a ride up the Ohau Valley to see the North Block. A rather dull day but took the following photos en route: - The Ohau river-bed at hear of water-races showing Maud on horse-back; (2) The pool on river-flat a little above pipe-bridge with Maud sitting on rock + very clear reflections; (3) The same with Maud on horse-back beside pool + North Block in background; (4) Maud on tramway in lower gorge of the Makahika River; (5) The Makahika River with Maud on horse-back; (6) Maud on "Judy" - a rear view. On arrival at North Block I told her that I was to take it over next March + pointed out various items of interest. Returned home by way of Gladstone Road. Took a photo (7) of Maud in Queen St.Rode part of way to Bruce Rd + returned home to dinner. Miss Hurley, of Levin school came to tea. Drove to church in evening - Rev. Perryman preached - saw Maud after service. Read "Barbara of the Snows" by H I Greene - rather good tale.
