George Leslie Adkin diary entry Wednesday 5 March 1913

Topic

Overview

Wed March 5

A very dull threatening day.  Father + I started out for the North Block with the 202 wethers dipped yesterday.  Got just beyond Best’s + found river in flood so bought them home again.  Jim + I put in day splitting rimu posts for CK-Swamp paddock fence.  Channings finished cutting drain through main swamp – 10 chains in length + 2 ft 6 ins deep + 2 ft 3ins wide at top narrowing to 1 ft at bottom.  He had a big job –tree + raupo roots in large numbers.  It cost Father 9/- per chain but was cheap at price.
