Jim + I started cutting the branch drain, of the Swamp–CK p[addock] system, which runs along the Cow–CK p. fence eastward. Wet job – Jim waded into work + got mud up to the eyes. In afternoon Uncle Bert came over – he is unable to work on acc[ount] of poisoned hand.
