Overview

Leslie Adkin is a farmer in the Horowhenua region, and manages two properties near Levin. He also works with his brother and father on the family farm, called Cheslyn Rise.

Farming activities this month include mustering, dipping, drenching, attending stock sales, cutting and firing scrub, sowing seed, and fencing.

Leslie married Maud Herd in December 1915, and on the 6th the couple move into their newly-built home. They spend their evenings decorating the house and arranging the 'furniture + pretties.' They also enjoy reading, and are regular church-goers.

This month serious fires burn through the Matahika Valley, and one of the buildings on Leslie's second property is burned down. He loses tools, seeds, and bags of wool.
