Rode up to Sonoma + finished cliff fence, cutting, carryig out + stapling remaining 50 battens. At midday Trass + Hutchens came down from my hilltop with two big carcasses of wild sows, one dead [sucker] + one

live one - they had also shot two others. The 56 steers in Mill p[addock] very poor - since the heavy fall of snow the grass has disappeared + the steers have lost condition. Decided to risk tutu so put 55 in Leighton p., leaving one in Mill p., + 4 in Top p.
