motor bike - Father, the girls, Clif, Miss Bowles, Enid, George + Jack in the car + Rev Abbey + family in gig. Took a couple of snaps (1) + (2) of party at luch place. After lunch Clif, George, Jack + I climbed to the "Lookout" + got a fine view. later we all went down to the beach + bathed. I carried Nancy down + let her paddle in the wavelets. Clif, Viv + I went in a second time with Ron Law. Unknown to us the tide was going out + we got out too far. I was the furthest + suddenly found the water to my chin between the waves + on trying to get in found the undertow too strong - struggled till very weak + then called to the others to help me. Later I found that Ron was also in difficulties. However, they gave me a hand + swimming as hard as I could, we all got back to the shallows. It was a narrow shave. Father, Maud + the others got rather a shock but I was soon all right again. Photo (1/4 pl[ate]) (3) + (4) of group on beach + (5) of Ron + Dora on motor-bike with boys on
