Drizzly rain nearly all day. Worked at Nancy's cot + in Hollow laying it out round the sunken swamp garden. Very close oppressive weather + mosquitoes very numerous. We are daily receiving news of many friends + acquaintances "killed in action" at the Front - sad + awful news.
