Howling easterly all night + this morning with driving rain. Started making a wooden cot for Nancy. After dinner rode up to Sonoma shepherded ewes + lambs + cattle on 100 ac[re] p[addock]. Worked at Leighton-Top p. fence - split 60 battens, carried them out + started putting on. Mustered ewes + lambs in top p. down to 100 ac. p., left it too late + finished with a bad time in the dark. Home at 7.30 + bed directly after tea.
