Drizzly showers all day. Rode up to

Sonoma shepherded Leighton, Mill + 100 ac[re] paddocks. Saw the 37 steers. Found 2 dead ewes + 8 dead lambs. Lambs are numerous now but few pairs of twins. The ewes appear to be in very good order. Got ½ day at Leighton-Top p[addock] fence + put in 7 posts. About 3pm Clifford came up + helped me saw two lengths of rimu for battens + two hinau for remaining posts required.
