Overview
Fri. Aug 24
Father + Clare left for a holiday in Napier. Over to Cheslyn Rise – hayfed steers + hoggarts [sic] etc. In pm rode up to South Block to shepherd + found all well – called at Sonoma en route to see the weak ewe (cast lambing on Wednesday). Brought down from South Block the second specimen of “daisy tree”.
