Overview
Mon Aug 20
Father + I went up to Sonoma taking up the seven smallest of my steers on far 42 p[addock]. Mustered my 47 Sonoma steers + drafter out 17 of the oldest. We went for a tour of inspection up the Crescent Spur to new fence I am erecting, along hilltop to Ohau Summit + down via Ravine Spur. Father seemed much impressed by the difficulties I have overcome + the work done. Drove the 17 [steers] down to the pipe-bridge where we met Clif + Frank who took them down to my far 42 p. making 26 there. Father + I went back to South Block, shepherded the ewes, drafted out 10 of his bullocks + brought them down to Swamp p. at Cheslyn Rise.
