Up early - breakfasted at "Palace" - down town before 8am in tram. Caught Karori tram at Govt [Government] Buildings at 8.20 + went out to Karori South, a desolate hole, + returned to the stopping place between the tunnel + viaduct. Followed theroad through Northlands [sic] + then the track up to the hilltop where the Wireless Station stands. A large number of native shrubs + also other trees have been planted alongside the track as well as on theratherbleak hillsides in the large

enclosureround the WirelessStation. From the summit of the hilla grand panoramic view of the City +Harbour is obtained; southward + westward the valley of the Kaiwarra Stream lies far below with the Reservoirs at it [sic] head + Wilton's Bush half-way down its length. I continued along the hilltops to the small high level reservoir + descended into Wadestown via Weld St + rode in tram back to the Govt. Buildings, arriving 10.20. Completed my shopping + at 1.15 joined Father, who had just arrived, at Kirkcaldies for lunch. We went up to see Mother together + had a long chat. Later Mrs Moyes + Mrs Millen (Olive Moyes) + Baby dropped in. At 3.15 I set out for Thorndon Station calling in at Messrs Herman + Kirkcaldies' office to sign a document onnected with leasing of "Grandpa's shop" en route. Caught 4.15 pm train for Levin. George met me with trap + on arrival at "Woodside" found beloved Maude with a lovely tea waiting for me.
