Heavy rain - at 10 am rode up to Sonoma via Ohau Gate - shepherded steers + ewes but did not see all of former. Found the good Red + white steer of the £7.17.6 dead alongside sheep-yards in Mill p[addock] - poisoned by tutu. Took off the hide between showers. Made gates in big shed in pm. Very heavy

rain. [I also found the weak red steer of £7.10.0 lot trapped at foot of cliff above wet swamp near Narby's b[oun]d[ar]y on Stuckey's Side on Mill p., but got him out. Put the 14 steers on Mill p. on the Leighton p.]
