Calm at last. Good deal of damage to our native shrubs, the young shoots being browned up. In pm took Maud + Nancy

for a drive through Fairfield - got home just before a thunderstorm drove up - very hot oppressive day + evening. Read "My climbing adventures in four continents" by Samuel Turner.
