Started clearing line for that part of the 100 ac[re] p[addock] fence to the east of the part already erected. This has been made necessary by the recent fires destroying the scrub block. The line runs up bottom of gully on south side of Main Wedge Spur to end of 100 ac. p. east fence. Got the line clear (about 8 chains) all but a huge combine - rimu + rata each log 3 1/2 ft in diameter, lying on hillside + off ground at fenceline. Tried to burn them but no good timber available.
