Clifford + I drove my ewes, lambs + rams back to Sonoma as far as 42 will not hold them any longer - it is dry, bare + brown. Left them on Mill p[addock]. Baby now weighs 8 lbs - no gain for the last week. Maud + I went for a walk down the paddock in afternoon - it is lovely to have her about again + looking like she did when we were first married. Still hot + dry weather,

+ the spring we have been relying on for water is about dry so we will have to go up to Sonoma very soon.
